Protect Land And Man With Berms

A berm is a barrier built out of dirt or grassland, to help protect against erosion of the earth. Many times it is used to help protect peoples farms, or even just their yards. Mostly from floods, or high rainfall. They are even used in between rows of crops, to help hold the plants above the ground level, many times the farmers plow their fields in such a manner to build these, cover them in plastic, to hold in the dirt, especially strawberries, then they plant their plants. Back in war times, a berm was built to help protect the soldiers against attack from the enemy. It served as a hiding place, so the enemy could not see the troops from ground level. If they were being looked on from up above, obviously these berms would serve useless, but helped a great deal in protecting on ground level.
